The Blog for the Indecisive

For more than 60 years now, the core products of Fill-Rite have been fuel transfer equipment, such as pumps and meters. Founded in 1961, the Indiana-based company is known for making rugged, heavy-duty fuel pumping systems for decades now. Recently, they’ve also been able to offer a fuel management system that integrates their products with the help of a mobile app.

Although Fill Rite offers mainly old-school, tried and true solutions, they also blend the new in with the old for more versatility in their product range. Therefore, in the same way certain businesses need a constant power supply, some also need an uninterrupted supply of fuel and Fill Rite USA has exactly what such businesses as well as individuals need.

Fuel Transfer Pumps

FR113

Made from cast aluminum, the FR113 has a simple rotary hand pump that requires no current to flow to it in order to work. However, that doesn’t prevent this Fill Rite fuel transfer pump from having a padlock-compatible handle. The FR113 also has a strainer that prevents large particles from contaminating it, as well as anti-siphon technology to prevent accidental fuel spillage.

FR1614

Unlike the FR113, the FR1614 is made from cast iron and it can be turned on and off thanks to a simple toggle switch in the form of a button. This 8-pound electrical pump operates at a maximum current of 17 A and has a 30/30 duty cycle. It can be used with kerosene, antifreeze and diesel, especially when used with drums and totes.

FR310VB

This 35 GPM fuel transfer pump has a dual voltage 115/230 V AC motor, which makes it work with fuel tanks that are between 35 and 140 gallons and more. The FR310VB is also made of cast iron, but unlike the FR1614, it weighs a lot more since it generates 0.75 HP. Despite having a lower discharge pressure limit of 26 PSI, the same duty cycle is present and you can use it for biodesel B20.

Fuel Nozzles

SDN100GAN

Part of Fill-Rite’s SD series nozzles, the SDN100GAN is a 1” automatic shut-off fuel transfer nozzle made for diesel applications with a spout size ranging from 1” to 1/8”. The SDN100GAN also has adjustable latching that lets you use the correct flow rate, thanks to three different latch positions found on the automatic nozzle. Thanks to the spout spring, this fuel nozzle prevents damage as it ensures correct nozzle placement every time.

FRHMN075S

The FRHMN075S from Fill-Rite is a manual 0.75” cast aluminum nozzle ideal for gasoline applications. This is thanks to the 15/16” spout, which, paired with its rugged construction, makes the FRHMN075S a durable and long-lasting solution with a simple design. While it doesn’t look as pretty as the SDN100GAN, it sure performs as well.

N100DAU13

This ultra-high-flow automatic shutoff nozzle is made mainly for gasoline applications where a flow rate of up to 40 GPM is required. It can also be used with diesel, B20, E15 and kerosene as its spout diameter is 0.94”. The N100DAU13 is also a cast-aluminum nozzle which has a red jacket instead of the green one found on the  SDN100GAN.

Bulk Transfer Pumps

PetroleumPro Series

Fill Rite offers motor-driven bulk transfer pumps that have a flow rate ranging from 95 GPM to 125 GPM. They are all compatible with a 115 or 230 V AC power source and as well as with gasoline, diesel and kerosene. The discharge pressure of these bulk transfer pumps ranges from 19 to 59 PSI.

FuelTraveller Series

With the mobile yet heavy-duty centrifugal pumps of the FuelTraveller Series, you get a flow rate of 130 GPM and 3.5 HP produced by a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled 7.75 cc engine. Like the PetroleumPro Series, these products are also compatible with gasoline, diesel and kerosene.

Applications of Fill-Rite Products

Agriculture

When it comes to agricultural use, the FR113 rotary hand pump is a perfect example of what a farmer needs to refuel a tractor, a generator or for an irrigation pump. That’s thanks to its simple, manual operation, which makes it ideal in remote areas with not many vehicles around. You can use the other two in the same category, but they are only going to be more convenient in terms of overfilling and spillage, but not when it comes to their power source.

Transportation

If you have a fleet of vehicles, automatic shutoff nozzles are a must-have, as well as bulk transfer pumps that can fill up multiple vehicles or transfer fuel from one tank to another more mobile one in short succession. These products help reduce operator fatigue and downtime.

Mining

In industries where large machines are used to excavate or transport materials in tonnes, bulk transfer pumps are used. Fill-Rite’s high-capacity pumps are able to ensure continuous operation by provide fuel to said machinery quickly.

Construction

Stationery fuel stations are common at construction sites and portable fueling equipment is, too. This is especially the case for automatic shutoff nozzles and small yet powerful fuel transfer pumps such as Fill-Rite’s 12V FR1614.
