Stroller or Pram: The Better Option for Baby Transport

Becoming a parent is quite the enjoyable period in a person’s life, but it’s also a leap into the unknown considering as soon as your baby arrives, you’re the one who’s responsible for its proper upbringing which is why it’s also rather stressful for parents-to-be. Of course, the process of preparing your mindset for this new role in life starts way before delivery; you want to provide what’s best for your bundle of joy so you get on the quest for the adequate products to welcome your little one but seeing the vast choices of baby products for sale can be confusing. Such is the case when deciding between a stroller and a pram.

Walking around with your baby is meant to be pleasing, so the choice you make for transport matters greatly. Often, the terms stroller and pram are used interchangeably and this is where all the confusion stems from. When it comes to comparing the two, the stroller is one of those baby products that are worth their money as it’s durable and can be used over a longer period which isn’t the case with prams because they’re mostly meant for newborns. Stroller is also known as push chair, whereas pram comes from the word perambulator, and this is where their design differences become apparent. Strollers are designed for sitting, while prams are designed for lying positions.

Another key difference is strollers are lightweight, very easy to carry and foldable to a compact size, meaning they’re perfect for getting them in and out of cars and buses unlike prams that are heavier. The many stroller features, such as large shopping baskets, rain covers and umbrellas, come in handy because parents don’t have to worry about taking care of errands while on the go with their bubs as there’s plenty of space to store bags and groceries, with the right protection from the rain and sun. Then again, there are also the additional storage compartments like pockets and snack trays, something prams lack.

Lately, however, the options are vast and there’s even shift towards the merging of both of these baby transport products, a design that’s the hybrid of both, stroller pram. It has all the advantages of strollers and the lying position of the pram – a design for utmost comfort of your bub. To make the most of this product, make sure there’s an adjustable handle so you get the right height, as well as the five point harness and foot rest for the safety of your little one.
