As I’ve been admiring the stunning creations of the world’s most influential fashion designers during this year’s spring/summer shows of Paris Fashion Week, I started thinking about all the past fashion trends that disappeared as quickly as they came. Some would explain this by simply saying that the world of fashion wouldn’t be as exciting as it is without all of the new ideas and directions that the boldest designers dare take.

Yes, it’s all true – new clothing collections take our breath away, but I believe that no modern piece can overshadow a classic one. If you disagree with me on this one, then you should ask yourself whether your wardrobe would be complete without an elegant little black dress, a flattering pencil skirt, a carefully chosen cream trench coat, and a beautiful wide brim hat. Yup, that’s what I thought.

Since I’m a huge hat lover, I decided to talk about the timeless beauty of one of my favourite accessories – the wide brim hat.
